I Kissed a Girl: A Virgin Lesbian Anthology edited by Regina Perry, reviewed by Dark Diva Reviews

I Kissed a Girl by Regina Perry
Publisher: Ravenous Romance
Genre: Erotic GLBT, F/F, Anthology

Summary: You've heard Katy Perry's hit song. Now read thirteen hot, enticing stories of women's first same-sex encounters. Women, ever ingenious and imaginative, find multiple solutions to enliven college life, survive the workday, rescue a tedious vacation, mend lonely hearts, or spice up a relationship.

Contributors include: C. Margery Kempe, Lousia Bacio, Inara Lavey, Samantha Jones, K. Ann Karlsson, Kilt Kilpatrick, Nola Erus, Farrah J. Phoenix, Jen Bluekissed, L.A. Mistral, Lucy Felthouse, and Regina Perry

Warning: Stories within this anthology may elicit arousal, regardless of sexual persuasion

My Review: Please note that because there are twelve short stories in this book, I am only giving the summary and individual review of some of them. I will end my review with an overall review of the entire anthology.

Freckles by C. Margery Kempe Summary: Lea has been thinking it is time to leave Keegan and move on, because their relationship has grown dull. When Keegan approaches her with an idea for a ménage a trios with another woman, Lea can’t help but wonder what it would be like to intimately touch another woman. She figures that it can’t hurt. It will either go well and spice up her relationship with Keegan, or give her an excuse to dump him. Lea has no idea what is in store for her when Bridey shows up, but she sure hopes it is good.

My Review of Freckles: Ms. Kempe has written a quick, very hot story in Freckles. Lea seems to be a practical woman, while Keegan is just a slob. I really liked Bridey, with her fun, outgoing personality. The passion between Lea and Bridey is explosive, and, well, Keegan is still a slob.

Two’s Company by Louisa Bacio Summary: Trish began experimenting sexually with other women in college, but only in a ménage setting. She has always had a thing for her friend, Jo, and she can sense a connection there. Will she ever get the chance to discover if she and Jo truly do have chemistry?

My Review of Two’s Company: Two’s Company by Louisa Bacio is written in the first person POV. While I prefer the third person, because I feel that it gives the story more dimension, Ms. Bacio did a very good job of illustrating the feelings shared between the characters, not just those of Trish.

Champagne by Inara La Vey Summary: Jeannette’s boyfriend, Darryl, is a wine enthusiast. When they take a trip to France, he turns the entire trip into a condescending and very boring lecture about wine. Their last stop is the Roux-Duboisrs’ winery. Jeannette feels very unattractive standing next to Marie-Elise, until she is given a lesson in wine-making that she will never forget.

My Review of Champagne: Inara La Vey’s Champagne is a seductive and informative short story. I call it informative because I learned quite a bit about the wine-making process, and the lesson was, well, let’s just say, it was very interesting. This is a very hot, passionate story, and one that I will not soon forget.

Passions, Like Storms by Nola Erus Summary: Heather is a good girl with a naughty desire. She wants Amber, the campus party girl. Does she have the nerve to act on her desires and go against everything she has been taught?

My Review of Passions, Like Storms: Nola Erus has written a short story, filled with vivid descriptions. Passions, Like Storms is an intense and very erotic story. My only problem is that the flow was off a bit and it read more like a poem than a story or book.

The End of the World by L.A. Mistral Summary: Katherine and Dora are barrel racers, and are exact opposite. That doesn’t stop Katherine from having some very naughty thoughts concerning Dora.

My Review of The End of the World: L.A. Mistral has written a quick, hot story. I really liked both of these ladies, and the barrel racing made the story a lot of fun.

Defining Lines by Regina Perry Summary: Ava hasn’t been out had a good date since her boyfriend died. While chatting with her friend, Ginger, she discovers that maybe she doesn’t need a man after all.

My Review of Defining Lines: Regina Perry’s Defining Lines may be a short erotic story, but it is filled with loads of emotion. I really enjoyed both these ladies. Ginger was very perceptive and is obviously a caring and intelligent woman.

My Overall Review: The I Kissed a Girl anthology is a collection of twelve short, erotic stories about women’s first same-sex experience. Each story is very erotic and well-written. I would recommend this book to be kept handy, say on your nightstand, for those nights that you need a quick story to get your motor running.
