THE DREAMERS OF OURDH
by
Thelbert Dewain Belgard

Unconditional love, undying loyalty, and insatiable lust bind two young princes together in a quest to find out who the Dreamers are and what they’re up to.  Arenh and Mikah are the rulers of their clans in a human colony on the planet Ourdh in the Andromeda Galaxy.  The colony began when its original members went to sleep in different parts of the Solar System where they lived and worked and woke up together in the caverns of the Mountain on Ourdh.  The problem was Earth at that time didn’t have the capacity for intergalactic space travel.

Fast forward a thousand years and still no one understands how or why it happened.  But Arenh and Mikah are about to find out when they meet the mysterious beings they call the Dreamers.  To know who the Dreamers are, however, they have to understand what the Dream is.  And they have to come to grips with who they are and confront a shocking discovery about the meaning of time and the nature of reality.

Excerpt from Chapter 6

“I’m still a bit upset that you can read my thoughts,” Mikah said.  “Friendship usually works best if both friends are on an equal footing.  Don’t you agree?”
“Yes, of course,” Arenh agreed. “But I think the Dreamers may eventually burden you with similar abilities if you’ll permit it to happen.”  Arenh hadn’t thought about this before; but as he was saying it, he felt the accord of the Dreamers and knew they were speaking through him.
“Usually I insist on equal footing in any relationship,” Mikah told him.  “But I’ll accept whatever footing I can get in your case.”
“I love you too,” Arenh said quietly.  “I’ve thought of you every day since the last time I saw you.  Losing my father and you on the same day was almost more than I could bear.  At first I was so sad I couldn’t stop crying.  I even cried in my dreams.”  He felt his eyes moisten and fought back his emotions.
“You didn’t lose me, my friend,” Mikah said, as he pulled Arenh into a hug and kissed him lightly on the lips.
Arenh had learned in his younger years to cope with the deep passions of the soul—the loneliness and sadness and lack of hope—by losing himself in the more superficial passions of the body.  As he felt Mikah’s lips on his, he felt those carnal passions stirring that had lain dormant for years.  The needs to escape his sadness and to make love to Mikah merged into an overpowering temptation.  He pulled Mikah’s body tight against him and kissed him deeply.  He could feel that Mikah was becoming aroused also.  He let his hands slip down under Mikah’s loincloth and grasped his buttocks lightly.  “I’m happy to see,” he whispered in Mikah’s ear, “that you still have a nice firm butt.”
“You should remember,” Mikah whispered in reply, “that I am now the King.”
“I’m sorry,” Arenh said with feigned regret, as he released Mikah from his embrace, “what I meant to say was, ‘you still have a nice firm butt, Your Majesty’.”
Mikah laughed.  “I was just teasing you, my friend.  I didn’t want you to stop, you know.  I forgot how sensitive you are.”
“It’s been so long since I touched you, I think I got carried away,” Arenh replied, with just a hint of embarrassment in his voice.
“Well I can hardly wait until you get carried away again!” Mikah laughed.
Arenh motioned for Mikah to sit beside him on the sofa.  “There’ll be more time later to renew our friendship,” he assured him.  “But now you and much of the City are in great danger.  That’s why I had to risk coming to see you... "
