Navigation is simple ... but don't forget to "drill down." This is a wiki, and many layers deep. The wiki takes the form of lists of lists, and some lists have lists of their own!

As a registered member, you're at liberty to post, comment, create new pages of your own, and maintain them. There are very few "rules and regulations," but before you get started, please take a few minutes to scan the Terms of Service ... which is NOT a legal document!

Help is available in the form of tutorials, User Forums and The Guide ... enjoy!

It's done, it's dusted, it's online, and it's FREE!

Having a hard time with the concept of wikiing? Relax. You're far from alone. Many members are new to webpages and even blogs, so saying "you'll find it's a lot like blogging" doesn't offer a whole lot of help.

There's also a new interface to learn, and folks who took it in their stride often forget that it's not quite intuitive. Not totally. You do have to recognize how things work. There is a little thing called "wiki theory" to be grasped.

So, let us help.

In the first six weeks after the Bookshelf went online, we fielded about 1000 questions, and put-right about 100 huge problems. We knew we'd go through a process of shakedown; we knew there would be wrinkles --

God knows, after you've gone through Version 1.0 of the Guide, you're going to come right back here and tell us what we forgot!

Please do tell us. This will enable is to make Version 2.0 better, more thorough, clearer for all. (We're also well aware that many  members will be reading this book with English as their second or third language. We're very proud to say that we have members in every continent ... and we're still so new, we're only just getting ready to "get the word out with some serious advertising!

The Guide is fully illustrated with color screen captures from the wiki, so it's about 3.75MB as a download (in PDF form).

It's also completely unsecured: print it out to your heart's content. In fact, printing and binding hints are given on page 2!

Our hope is that you'll print it, staple it, grab a coffee and sit down with it in your lap. Scan through it (it's a quick read, with BIG TEXT and lots of pictures) and have a good grasp on how the Community works before you even look at the computer.

And the text is really big ... why?! Because the book needs to be lying open on the desk or in your lap while you work, and you need to be able to read it from a distance. Small text won't do. We set the whole thing in one of the old typewriter fonts, as 12 point. (You're welcome!)

So let's get to business! Click here to download The Guide . It's a 3.75MB PDF without any security, so you're good to go.

And do let us know what we missed. And if you find this book a lifesaver ... and if you can see much bloody hard work went into it ... consider making a small donation as a sorta-kinda "pay forward" gesture. Thanks!
