As GLBT Bookshelf grows and develops, it needs more funding to keep it going, and those bucks have to come from somewhere! In the early days of the wiki we thought, "Members will be making donations, that'll have it covered!" This turned out to be somewhat naive, and we soon discovered how thin on the ground donations can be!

However -- we also discovered the perfect way to fund the Bookshelf...

Let Amazon (yes, Amazon!) fund it for us!

So, how's this work? Well, in fact, it's dead simple. We opened an Amazon Affiliate Account. For every transaction processed through that account, using the special tracking ID provided, they pay from 4% - 6.5% of the sale vale to the Bookshelf. There's only two catches. One: transactions have to be finalized within 24 hours, because the Big A sets a 24 hour cookie, so anyone who didn't finish off their order inside of a day will still get their goods, but the Bookshelf won't benefit. Two: Bookshelf members have to see how great an idea this is, and agree to start their shopping on one of our special pages...

Just start their shopping, not finish it! You don't have to buy one single thing listed on any of our pages!! The only thing you need to do is to start your Amazon spree from any of our links, and then complete the transaction before the same time tomorrow. When you get to Amazon from one of our links, your shopping cart ought to be empty, and if it isn't -- tip anything out of it that you don't want in there at checkout time.

And that's all there is to it. Just start your shopping from this page, or any page carrying the special logo you see right here. If even half of our regular Bookshelf's members could remember to do this even half of the time, GLBT Bookshelf would have all the funding it'll ever need to grow and flourish.

We're sure you'll be in this, because it's not going to cost you a nickel. You're on your way to Amazon to buy goodies already, right? So why not maneuver The Big A right where we want them, so that up to 6.5% of your transaction (not counting postage, of course) will come to the Bookshelf, and pay for the nurturing and fostering of a GLBT community?
