Maritime Men by Janey Chapel

Summary: SEAL candidates Cooper Fitch and Eli Jones are cut off from the outside world and pushed to their physical and mental limits by the demands of the Navy's elite training program. Their reliance on each other takes an unexpected turn after Hell Week, the most grueling stretch of basic conditioning, when Cooper and Eli surrender to passion fueled by fatigue, horniness, and alcohol. Despite the danger of being discovered, their intense attraction begins to feel like a natural extension of living, working, and training side by side, and neither is willing to give it up, no matter the risk.

Reviews of Maritime Men:
"In some ways this story is more about friendship, especially that strong, fierce bond often associated with men who live and work in adverse conditions. While the sex scenes are hot, they are also imbued with a sense of fun and camaraderie which I found really appealing...This was an engaging, affecting story which I can't recommend highly enough, so unsurprisingly gains a grade of 'Excellent'." -- Jenre at Well Read.
"Janey Chapel has done an especially nice job of drawing her characters. Even the secondary characters are colorfully described.
" -- Carole at Rainbow Reviews
"Terrific prose and dialogue...If you like stories about men in the military you will definitely like Maritime Men." -- Wave at Reviews by Jessewave
"Maritime Men is one of the best short stories I've read in a while. Janey Chapel makes Maritime Men unforgettable with an in depth plot and an amazing relationship." -- Nannette at Joyfully Reviewed
"The military theme combines seamlessly with the romance aspect and ultimately delivers a wonderfully rich and textured story.
" -- Kassa at Manic Readers
"There is so much to praise about Maritime Men, which achieves what I consider a perfect tone or feel for the material. ... Something I especially liked here at Obsidianbookshelf.com is the contrast between Cooper's unsentimental viewpoint and his situation of falling deeply in love with Eli. A less talented author might have poured on the syrup and made these two men behave like love-struck fourteen year-old girls. Maritime Men is beautifully, realistically subtle. ... I found Maritime Men a total treat to read." -- Val Kovalin, Obsidianbookshelf.com
