M. King (author, artist)
Vibrant, compelling fiction ~ http://lavengra.wordpress.com
M. King lives and works in a damp, verdant corner of south west England, where she may usually be found behind a keyboard and a vat of coffee. She writes across a wide range of genres, frequently with a strong GLBT bias, and also dabbles in cover art, being one of those creative types who can't stop fiddling with things.
Breaking Faith, her first novel, was released in October 2008 to wide acclaim, drawing rave reviews and comparisons to Brokeback Mountain, despite not having any real cowboys in it. Set in Northern Montana, the story is a hard-hitting, intense romantic drama following two young men whose lives are changed forever during one fateful summer.
Only Mortals, forthcoming from Red Rose Publishing, is a collection of seven unique, evocative short stories united by a paranormal theme. From stone circles to mythical beings, and even the darker side of life inside our own heads, each tale takes a different look at life, and love, where mortal and ethereal collide.
Safe House, available from loveyoudivine, explores what happens when successful architect Simon Preston finally admits his fantasies to his partner, and asks how hard it really is to admit you want to lose control.... [18+; erotica; bdsm] cover art by M. King
Almost Human, available in multiple ebook formats and soon to appear in print in the forthcoming Immortal Fire anthology, is a dark fantasy adventure set in a world where everything has changed...even the human race. Immortals Kalyan and Lazarus find themselves pitted against a mysterious order, with more at stake than they could ever have imagined.
The Ice Shack, micro short fiction, introduces Ryan, who is appalled when his partner Devon drags him to a tiny cabin on the edge of the Catskills for--quite possibly--the worst Christmas vacation ever. What Ryan doesn't realise it that his life is about to be turned completely upside down....
NEW SERIES: The Travellers' Tales series--short stories inspired by Romany folk tales--will be available in ebook format prior to being collated in a print collection in 2010. The tales will release one per month, beginning September 2009, and first in line is The Green Man.
The Green Man Cover art by M. King. After the disappearance of his lover, Jack, Welsh gypsy Gwyn cares little for his own life…so much so that he’s prepared to wager his very soul on a game of cards. Gwyn might be a careless gambler, but when he learns the stakes are even higher than he could have imagined, he’s prepared to do anything to win back his mate. In the strange world of The Green Man’s castle, a series of challenges await Gwyn, and failure will carry the ultimate penalty.
The Golden Horse Cover art by M. King. When horse dealer’s son Shem falls foul of the local squire, he’s forced to repay his debt. But what he finds in his lordship’s stables is far from ordinary. The golden horse—an animal of rare value and mystical properties—holds an astonishing secret, which sets Shem on the way to a journey that will take him a distant land, and to the very heart of what is means to be human, and to be loved.

When Betty Shaw's drive-in movie date goes sour, help comes from an unexpected source. But, in the stifling MidWest of the 1950s, young ladies are not supposed to ditch their dates for other girls....
Note: readers may also be interested in the rest of my titles, not all necessarily categorised as GLBT...particularly Daemon, a paranormal suspense/mystery, partially set in England's gay capital, Brighton. It's not a romance and there's hardly any naked guys, but you might just laugh. ~M. King
COVER ART: As of July 2009, I am now also taking on work as a cover artist. Actively looking to negotiate with publishers, also happy to discuss individual work with authors. Email lavengra AT yahoo DOT com if interested. Thank you!
