Angela Benedetti

Butterfly

Fantastical Fiction

Gay Romance and Erotica

Bio:

Angela Benedetti is in her forties and lives in Long Beach with her husband and his cat. She and the cat live in a state of mutually civil disdain, which works as well as these things ever do. Angela's been writing since she was a teenager and finds it impossible to pick a genre -- much less a subgenre -- and stick with it, no matter what all the marketing gurus say about how writers should brand themselves.

When not writing, Angela is usually reading, both online (stories and blogs and web comics) and offline. She enjoys fiction (SF, fantasy, both het and gay romance and erotica, along with anything else which looks interesting) plus nonfiction as diverse as European history, the hard sciences, textiles (both history and technique), travel and food. (The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan is excellent and highly recommended.) She enjoys cooking and baking, and works out at least a little every day to make up for same. She also enjoys several forms of needlework when she can pry the time away from writing and reading.

After drifting through various majors including chemistry, physics and computer science, she settled into history, focusing on the Middle Ages and the early universities in particular. She has, unfortunately, forgotten most of her Latin.

Angela published her first story with Torquere Press in 2007 and still smiles when she thinks about it. She writes gay erotica, romance, and romantic erotica in the Science Fiction, Paranormal and Urban or Modern Fantasy genres, with an occasional foray into straight [cough] contemporary. This list is subject to additions at any time.

LiveJournal

Note that as of early April '09, all three blogs -- WordPress at the web site, Blogspot and LJ -- are fully cross-posted, except for the occasional LJ post which is relevant mainly to people on LJ. If you have a particular blogging system you're comfortable with, pick one of them and subscribe and you won't miss anything.

Prior to April '09, the Blogspot blog has posts which might be of interest on writing, the industry, some issues I'm interested in (like GLBT issues or plagiarism) and miscellaneous things which I found annoying or amusing; feel free to browse. Comments are welcome on older posts. (Except for comment spam, which is pulped and defenestrated.)
